Over the last couple of years they have continued on a steady rise and do not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Surely there are some that are more popular than others and then some that are just downright horrible. The fact that Android is open sourced and anybody can make anything that they choose for the platform there is never a shortage of ideas or applications coming down the pipeline. This is just one of the advantages that Android has over Apple.
