The Philadelphia arts scene is made of historic museums, fine arts destinations and modern contemporary arts museums and musical establishments, art galleries, live performance venues and intellectual diversity. The mecca of the fine arts in Philadelphia is known better as the Parkway Museum District, a 2 1/2 mile stretch that runs from LOVE Park thru Logan Square to the entrance to Fairmont Park. A ramble along this grand boulevard takes one past the Moore College of Art & Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, The Franklin Institute, the Acadamy of Natural Sciences Center and the acclaimed Rodin Museum, ending at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Philadelphia arts scene is not limited to the Parkways District. The Arthur Ross Gallery and The Institute of Contemporary Art are both exceptional examples of the fine arts in Philadelphia. A bunch of colleges call Philadelphia home including LaSalle University, Temple University, St. Joseph's University and Drexel University, among many others. The presence of so many tutorial institutions contributes mightily to the excitement, the "buzz" one feels all over Phily. Fine arts in Philadelphia, additionally to all the above, include a colorful live music and coffeehouse scene, photo and art gallery scene, performing arts faculties and venues. The city is also a regular stop on the lecture tour of important speakers and performance artists.
