Surrounded in wonderful wilderness is a lovely little town called Rose City. It is in the county of Ogemaw, which is in northwestern Michigan. This place offers multiple places to shop, which include a variety of items. There is also glorious nature to view, no matter where you look.
Allen S. Rose founded this city in 1875, although he called in Churchill. It was later renamed after him, which is how it got its current name. Allen Rose was originally located in New York City but he moved to Michigan. In 1892 when the railroad started to go through the town, it changed many things. It also would lead to the city being incorporated in 1905.
Most people here hold factory jobs, mainly in the plastics, machinery and auto part fields, but there is still a good percentage of people that work at the small shops throughout the city. The general age of people here is 44.6 and the number of people in the area is around 653.
Luckily located under three miles from city limits is this beautiful recreational area. This is comprised of pure wilderness. It is located in a State Forest, which is 4,449 acres. This is a great tourist area for people visiting to travel too. They have many fun activities including, but not limited too; fishing, hunting, swimming, biking, hiking, boating, cross-country skiing and canoeing. While this area used to be private for hunting and fishing it was made public in 1963.
